Originally equipped from Dearborn with a 351 Windsor, the engine has been replaced with a 351 Cleveland. Considered a better performance engine at the time, this 351 Cleveland has been rebuilt with new pistons, rings, new crank, new bearings, new seals, and a fresh oil pump. The big advantage the Cleveland had over the Windsor was the better breathing heads. The heads for this Cleveland have been rebuilt. Sitting atop the 351 Cleveland is a Quick Fuel 4 barrel carburetor. This insures that plenty of fuel gets into those big heads, and makes this Cleveland scream. The Cleveland engine has been mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The Fun Factor on a scale of 1 to 10 is an eleven, when driving this muscular pony car. The body of this Fastback Mustang has been completely stripped down to the bare metal. New metal panels have been installed in the trunk, wheel wells, front fenders, rear quarters, shock towers and a new cowl. After the new metal was added, this Mach I was covered in Red PPG Concept paint. To make the Red paint really pop, new front/rear chrome bumpers, new grill, new rear grill honeycomb insert, new chrome “pop-open†gas cap, new chrome tail light bezels, and chrome trim were added. This Mustang also has new weather stripping, a new gas tank with sending unit. Inside the cabin, the vinyl seats and black carpet look new, just like everything else!
