This 1970 Roadrunner is for sale in the Louisville KY showroom. The Plymouth roadrunner was Chrysler's answer to a "back to the roots of muscle cars" muscle car. With nothing but a midsize frame, huge motor, and no options you could pick up a Roadrunner that would run 14 sec 1/4 miles for under 3 grand. Even though they only expected to sale 20000 units the car was so popular it easily doubled those expectations. Dodge was so impressed they even released a model of their own, the Super Bee. This 1970 is a great example of the classic Roadrunner concept. The Body is straight and is believed to have all the originals panels. The car has been brought back to its color of EB7 or Jamaican Blue Metallic as it was called and it looks great. The top was finished off just as it was in 1970 with black vinyl which accents the blue nicely. The car has been badged with the period correct 440 badging. Not only are the badges there but pop the hood and you will see a very well detailed 440 with the classic 6 pack air cleaner finishing it off. It has been outfitted with a very nice set of Hedman headers that look great and sound even better. With the monster amount of torque these engines put out the transmission needed to be pretty much bullet proof. This one has a 727 Torqueflite HD 3 speed which handles it nicely. Outback an 8 and 3/4 rear end stuffed with a set of 3.55 gears gives the car great balance for not only great acceleration but decent highway speeds as well. As with all MOPAR's of that era this beauty has been outfitted with huge 11 inch drums which bring this piece of American muscle to a respectable stop. The interior has been redone with the period correct blue vinyl wrapping the bench seat. This 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner's options include; AM/FM/CD, Vinyl Interior, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Seat Belts, and Rally Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. This 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner can be seen, including an HD video, at www.gatewayclassiccars.com , call at 812-294-1555 or email for more information.
