This 1978 Chevrolet K5 Blazer is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The K5 was the smallest full size SUV version from the C/K line of trucks. Though very popular and running an amazing 22 years you really don't see many of them running around today. Used as mainly off-road vehicles, sort of a bigger jeep if you will, they were used up and thrown away basically making them a hard find today. This 1978 is a good example of what can be done when you have a great platform to begin with. This one owner was a treasured piece that was taken great care of not only when being used as a daily but after being completely rebuilt and brought back to better than ever. The first thing he did was go for more power, so after pulling the motor a new cam was installed giving it much better low end torque and ofcourse a great sound. The next thing to be switched out was the intake, adding an Edelbrock performer definitely woke that small block up. Ofcourse you don't want to put it all back together and look the same, so a chrome kit was added giving it a very clean look. With the engine back in, the builder liked the, or should I say loved, the chrome. Having that said he installed basically every chrome thing you can get for a 78 Blazer and as you can tell there is quite a bit. The front sway bars have been chromed as well as a host of other things underneath. With the drivetrain sorted out and running like it should the next thing to be addressed was the paint. The body was in great condition but the paint was just OK. Having that said he went to work smoothing out and fixing any little pings that he picked up in its daily driver life. The top, which was originally a textured finish as most of them came, was smoothed and refitted giving the body of the truck one of the nicest looks and fits I have seen. The paint which is very similar to the original white was chosen but with a subtle yet dramatic twist. It is white with a purple undercoat and a ton of pearl giving it a very high end finish. It truly does have the same luster and gleam of a high end pearl. With the truck back together and looking exceptional the interior was the last step of the build. The decision was made to go with a custom tweed set up. Again going for function and looks the bucket seats were wrapped as well the door panels.. Finished off with a custom headliner with a tri color design incorporating the different colors used finishing off the interior nicely. Options on this 1978 Chevrolet K5 Blazer. AC, AM/FM/ Cassette, T-Tops, Cruise Control, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Windows, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Cloth/Vinyl Interior, and Aluminum Wheels in Radial Tires.
