Up for sale in our Houston showroom is a 1972 Lincoln Continental Mark IV. The Continental Mark IV is a two-door personal luxury coupe that was sold by the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company from 1972 to 1976. Following the success of the Continental Mark III, Ford renewed the model line to again compete against the Cadillac Eldorado. Sharing the underpinnings and much of the roofline with the redesigned Ford Thunderbird for 1972, the Mark IV was given distinct body styling from the windows down. In addition, the Mark was distinguished by hidden headlights and the "Continental spare tire" trunklid. A feature retained from the Mark III was "Sure-track" brakes, which was one of the first American cars to become equipped with anti-lock brakes. Both front seats were power adjustable. Mark IV built upon the "long-hood, short deck" proportions, sharp-edged fenders, hidden headlamps, and a tall, radiator-style grille. Under the hood is something all Mark IV’s shared, the 365 horsepower 460 C.I.D V8 that’s right, a massive 7.5L engine and complimented by a C6 3 speed automatic transmission. This beautiful Mark IV is coated in the desired Black on Black with Black being the interior and exterior color. The options on this 72’ Lincoln include: A/C, am/fm radio, cloth interior, hub caps, power brakes, power locks, power seats, power steering, power windows, radial tires, seatbelts, tilt wheel, white walls and numbers matching. This beautiful 1972 Lincoln Continental Mark IV up for sale can be viewed along with over 90 HD pictures and video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
