Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to present this gorgeous Dark Blue Metallic 1971 Dodge Charger for sale. Based on what the decoded fender tag indicates, this car is nearly the same as it was when it rolled off the manufacturing line in 1971! It appears to have been a special-order configuration, based on the "Sold Car" designation (code Y14) on the fender tag, since it's a base Charger with some premium options. For starters, the 300HP 383 CID V8 with 4BBL carburetor (codes N1E and E65) was not the standard engine in a base Charger, nor was the Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission (code D32). It's painted in its original Dark Blue Metallic (GB7), but the original (white) Vinyl Canopy Roof (V4W) is no longer present; nor are the original black Accent Stripes (V7X) or Belt Moldings (M31), but frankly, it presents a nice clean look without those items. Inside, the original (blue) Luxury Cloth/Vinyl Bench Seat (D3B5), along with the rear seat, have been recovered in an attractive white synthetic leather, which adds a nice contrast to the rest of the blue interior (and the blue exterior). In fact, we like the looks better than the original seats, and the full synthetic leather seating is easier to clean than the original vinyl-trimmed cloth seating. This car was ordered with factory air conditioning (H51), but the compressor has been replaced with a modern one, which supports R134a refrigerant. It will need a coolant recharge to get it blowing ice cold though. An electric pusher fan has been added in front of the A/C condenser and 26-inch radiator (code "26" on the fender tag), which aids in cooling for both components. In addition to those option codes, it was also ordered with dual exhaust (code N41) and the Noise Reduction Package (code N97), so someone ordered just what they wanted. This sleek Charger comes with Power Steering, Power Brakes, and Seatbelts, and is riding on some chromed Cragar mags that are shod with modern Radial Tires. If you're a Mopar enthusiast and you want the full fender tag decoding, call or email us and we'll be happy to send it to you. This 1971 Dodge Charger's originality, clean looks, and unique features make it worth a look!
