The International Harvester Scout is an off-road vehicle which was produced by International Harvester from 1961 to 1980. A precursor of more sophisticated SUVs to come, it was created as a competitor to the Jeep, and it initially featured a fold-down windshield. The Scout and second generation Scout II were produced in Fort Wayne, Indiana as two-door trucks with options of a half cab pickup or removable hard or soft top. The Scout II is most identifiable by its different front grilles. Normally these would have came with a small V8 and were rarely optioned as automatics. This one however has a Chrysler 360 smallblock V8 that is hooked to a 727 Torq-Flite transmission. n Scout IIs, Dana 30 front axles and Dana 44 rear axles were standard until 1974, with front Dana 44 axles as a special order as this one has. With a 8†Rancho lift on 35†all terrain tires this Scout II is sure to get you where you need to go.
