Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is excited to present this beautiful Le Mans Blue 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. One of the most iconic of the Pony Cars, the 1969 Camaro has developed a cult-like following. The Camaro was introduced in 1967 as Chevrolet's answer to combat the success of Ford's Mustang, which created a whole new vehicle segment, later dubbed "Pony Cars". For 1969, the Camaro received all-new sheet metal (except for the hood and trunk), which served to give the car a substantially sportier look. The grille was redesigned with the heavy “V" cant, and the headlights were given a new recessed position. New door skins, rear quarter panels, and rear valance panel also gave the car a much lower, wider, and more aggressive look. The wheel wells were flattened with sculpted feature lines flowing off towards the rear of the car and rear-slanting simulated air slots were positioned ahead of the rear wheel. The front had a full width chrome bumper integrated with the body color grille surround and round parking lights positioned on either side of the license plate. At the rear were wider tail light bezels with triple segment lenses. This styling is considered by many Camaro enthusiasts as the ultimate muscle car look and arguably the most desirable. This car is presented in its original LeMans Blue paint (as depicted on the cowl tag), along with performance white stripe accents.
Under the cowl hood of this beast lurks a 396 CID V8 replete with aluminum heads, but it is not attempting to present itself at an L89 - just think of it as "more power"! Backing the stout 396 is a fairly new M22 4-speed manual transmission (only about 400 miles on it); so, this bad boy is ready to rock for many more years. Overall, this is one super clean '69 Camaro, with lots going for it, including the RS/SS look, but with electrically-operated headlight doors (a step up from the vacuum units which originally handled the headlight cover operation). The cowl tag shows that this is an X22 car, which indicates an original SS396 car. While it is unknown exactly when the restoration on this ride was completed, it looks like it's either fresh or the car has just been very well-stored, because it's so clean and has such minimal oxidation.
Inside this cool coupe is an Ivory bucket seat interior (also noted on the cowl tag), which, along with the black carpet seems practically new. Additional features on this 1969 Camaro for sale are AM radio, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, Spare Tire, and Vinyl Interior.
