Introduced in 1968 as a trim level for the Plymouth Belvedere, the Road Runner was designed to be a “no frills" muscle car, just a simple car with a big engine. Trim-wise, it was fit between the highest trim GTX and the slightly lower trim-level Satellite. The Road Runner sold double its expected numbers in the first year, becoming a tremendous success!

This Road Runner went through a complete restoration prior to its current owner purchasing it in 2006 and was repainted in its original B5 blue that shines in the sun. The body lines, along with the stance of this car give it a solid and mean presence. According to its owner, it is powered by its original 4BBL carb-equipped 383 CID V8, which is backed by its original 4-speed manual transmission. It gets all of its 335 horsepower to the ground via its limited-slip Dana 60 rear end, so those Coker re-pops of the Firestone F70-15 "red line" SuperSport tires don't stand a chance if you dump the clutch from a standing start. The ever-present pistol grip shifter really adds to the fun - it just feels good in your hand. The interior looks nearly as good as it did when it left the assembly line and is in the same B5 blue as the exterior. The carpet is in very good condition, panels and trim look great, and the vinyl seating surfaces look almost unused. Its original dash and gauges still look great, as well.
