The Mustang was Ford’s most successful launch since the Model A and has been in production since being introduced in mid 1964. The original Ford Mustang I four-seater concept car had evolved into the 1963 Mustang II two-seater prototype, which Ford used to pretest how the public would take interest in the first production Mustang which was released as the 1964 1/2, with a slight variation on the frontend and a top that was 2.7 inches shorter than the 1963 Mustang II. Introduced early on April 17, 1964, and thus dubbed as a "1964½" model by Mustang fans. The Mustang created the "pony car" class of American automobiles—sports-car like coupes with long hoods and short rear decks-and gave rise to competitors such as the Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, AMC Javelin, Chrysler's revamped Plymouth Barracuda and the first generation Dodge Challenger. For 1999, the Mustang received Ford's New Edge styling theme with sharper contours, larger wheel arches, and creases in its bodywork, but its basic proportions, interior design, and chassis remained the same as the previous model. The Mustang's powertrains were carried over for 1999, but benefited from new improvements. The standard 3.8 L V6 had a new split-port induction system, and was rated at 190 base horsepower. This pony is no joke, it comes packing a potent procharged 4.6L V8 and T3650 5 speed manual transmission built by Promotion. Handling all this power packed punch is an 8.8 rear end and 4.30 gear. The P1 procharger is paired with an oversized intercooler, aftermarket upper intake, KB boost pump, 42lb injectors and MagnaFlow exhaust to make this pony sing loud. The Black leather Cobra embroidered seats look very inviting while the Black coated exterior is accented by 2010 GT 500 wheels wrapped with Nitto 555R drag radials. The upgraded sound system consists of two 10” subwoofers in the trunk and from sitting in the cold air conditioning your music will sound amazing.
