Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is excited to offer this high performance 1971 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible. This car was born with a 318 cid V8 and came painted yellow from the factory. This was a factory air conditioning car with power steering, power brakes, and power top, all from the factory. The car had a frame off, rotisserie restoration and became the triple black car you see today.

All of the paint on the car is black PPG urethane. During the restoration, the car received a new top, legendary seat skins, new carpeting, and a rally dash with autometer gauges. The car maintains its original door panels, rear panels, dash pad, console, kick panels, and seatbelts.

Options on the car included power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, power top, fog lights, map light, power trunk, hideaway wipers, and a luggage rack. Going into the restoration, the body was rust free. The car has its original rear quarters, original doors, original trunk, original frame rails, original front grille, and original tail lights.

The modern powerplant in this beast is a 6.1L Hemi V8 that came from a 2007 Chrysler 300 SRT8. This is mated to a TKO 600 transmission from American Powertrain. It has a Strange Dana 60 rear end with 3:55 gears. The fully functional hood scoop feeds air to the factory SRT8 air cleaner.

This Barracuda rides on AlterKtion front and rear coilovers. The car is mini tubbed with 335/35/17 Hoosier Street Slicks in the rear and 275/35/17 up front. These are wrapped around Budnik wheels at 17x9.5 inches up front and 17x11 inches in the rear. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood disc brakes that are 13 inch, 6 piston calipers on the front, and 12 inch, 4 piston calipers in the rear with an E brake.

If you’re looking for a high performance car that could win any show you go to, look no further. This monster Barracuda is ready to hit the streets!
