Only 6,502 lucky Corvette enthusiasts out there were able to buy a new authentic '78 Vette, Pace Car edition. In the end, 6,502 of the Indy 500 replicas were sold, roughly one for every Chevrolet dealer in the United States. 202 of the 6,502 were sold with the 4-speed transmission (production date 3/8/1978) and the L-82 engine also equipped with Gymkhana suspension. This is one of 202, which makes this car extremely rare!!! Since 1953 the Corvette has been a symbol of the American lifestyle and a collector's dream. I was the lucky one who got to drive this beauty into our showroom. I drove it 5 times around our building before bringing it in. This car is #81 and it is in beautiful shape, early production came with a yellow polyspare. Recently the car underwent a complete maintenance service. This is a well documented car with low mileage and is believed to be original. The car was delivered Hory Chevrolet Larchmont N.Y. 4/17/78. Includes documentation from 1988-2014 demonstrating maintenance and mileage consistency. Car is free of rust, dual aluminized exhaust with stainless steel mufflers and turn downs, period correct hose clamps and heater control valve. Heater hoses are GM reproduction. Car still has original ML-7 radiator, which has been boiled and pressure tested. It is not a secret anymore that every Corvette collector here in the States or overseas wants exactly this car in their collection. You don’t want to miss this piece of American history.
