Originally intended for a run of 5,000 units, only 4,118 of the Mustang GT/CS were produced. Shelby Automotive designed the GT/CS custom body work including the left and right side scoops, rear decklid, and tail lights. Some of the other standard features on the California Special included fog lights and hood pins. The California Special was also readily identifiable by the unique “GT/CS†side stripes and “California Special†emblems on the quarters and ducktail spoiler. This particular GT/CS has the white strip package, with red paint that was redone in the 1980’s. Under the hood of this California Special, you will find a 289 CID V8 mated to a C4 Transmission. On the inside, you can cruise in comfort with the custom vinyl seats with velour inserts, aftermarket radio, and air conditioning.
