The introduction of the Mustang created a whole new category of vehicle, the Pony car, and totally changed the automotive landscape forever. In 2005 a full restoration was performed on this 65’ Mustang including body, paint, interior, and engine and transmission rebuild. This Mustang features the wonderful color combination of a dark blue metallic exterior and white vinyl interior. The dark blue paint features a small amount of metallic flake. It shines beautifully as it was greatly cared for since the restoration was complete. It is very hard to imagine that the paint is in fact 13 years old. The white vinyl interior features the Pony interior upgrade which includes woodgrain trim throughout and Mustangs emblazed in the backs of all the seats. Options for this 1965 Ford Mustang convertible include: Front Disk Brakes, Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Automatic/Power Convertible Top, Hub Caps, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Power Steering, Power Brakes, and Radial tires. Powering this convertible Pony car is a 289 CID V8 engine that was rebuilt at the time of restoration and has been driven approximately 550 miles since the rebuild. A C4 automatic transmission transfers the power to the pavement via the stock rear end and radial tires. This is a great example of an early Mustang with all the right options, and a beautiful color combination.
