Ford's introduction of the Mustang set the stage for the most successful new car launch ever. In 1965, its first model year on sale, Ford sold well over 600,000 vehicles and then repeated that feat again in 1966. But sales dropped by more than 20 percent for 1967, and fell again in 1968 to roughly half those early results as the competition was finally catching up. Then came idea of a special edition vehicle that would spike the interest again! Every TRUE California Special editions given the build location the VINs should begin with the sequence “8R01." 8 - Reflecting 1968 / R - Reflecting San Jose / 01 - Reflecting Mustang Hardtop.

The 1968 Ford Mustang is arguably one of the most iconic cars of its era! The first generation Mustang is something that is loved by all car enthusiasts. This Mustang has a healthy 289 engine paired with a smooth shifting C4 automatic transmission. The powerplant is more than enough to rip the tires apart and give off exhaust notes that sound like music. The California Special edition of this Mustang came with: F70X14 wide oval tires, white sidewall nylon tires, power steering, air conditioning - selectaire, AM radio, tinted glass, seat belts, and wheel covers.

When walking around the exterior you notice the red paint still shines and shows well. The black vinyl top is in great shape and flows well with the overall appearance of this car.
