1979 Chevrolet Corvette

For sale in our Chicago showroom is a one-owner 1979 Chevrolet Corvette. This vehicle was purchased from Nielsen Chevrolet on January 31, 1980 and has been meticulously kept and cared for by the original owner until now. From the very beginning all records have been carefully kept in plastic covers showing everything that has been done to this car from the time it rolled off the St. Louis assembly line in 1979. With a cost of just under $15,000 this car came very well equipped and is in remarkable preserved condition. A copy of the original window sticker, original warranty papers, visor insert, dealer invoice, warranty book, owners manual and dealer brochure are included.

This well-preserved example of an American icon has only been driven in nice weather and features the original paint and interior. The Corvette red paint still shines nice and the interior still smells new. The red leather bucket seats look remarkable for being 36 years old and are still very soft with very little signs of wear. Even the original dash is free of any cracks or blemishes. The tinted glass t-tops look great from any angle and the original painted t-tops are also included along with locks to prevent theft and a hood lock as well.

Under the hood you will notice the original (L-48) 350 Cubic Inch 5.7 Liter V8 with 4bbl carburetor created 195 horsepower and brought the car up to speed with a 3-speed Turbo Hydramatic transmission that shifts seamlessly and makes for a comfortable drive. Recent maintenance and service includes a brand new battery, air conditioning service, transmission service, new belts, new tachometer, new clock and new valve cover gaskets. All service records are available showing constant and consistent maintenance over the last 36 years.
