For sale in our Chicago showroom is a 1966 Ford Mustang. The Mustang was born in April 1964 and thus referred to as 1964 1/2 models and quickly gained acceptance by the general public. Lee Iacocca was the Vice President of Ford at the time and referred to the popularity of the Mustang craze as a "Home Run" for Ford. The little 4-seater 2-door car was soon seen everywhere and was the most successful launch by ford since the Model A.
This Emberglo Metallic beauty not only looks fantastic with a very nice vinyl top and new luggage rack but also runs and sounds fantastic. The original 200 cubic inch inline 6 cylinder starts effortlessly and produces a nice rumble with stainless headers running back to a dual exhaust with chrome tips. The electronic points make for a more reliable ignition system. The Cruise-O-Matic transmission shifts very nice and thanks to power steering and power front disc brakes drives very much like a modern car. Three-Point seat belts and a rear 3rd brake light were added for safety. LED dash ights, front and rear parking lights sequential turn signals add a modern touch to this timeless classic. Restoration on this iconic coupe was completed about 2,000 miles ago making this car ready to enjoy for some time.
