For sale in our Chicago showroom is a 1965 Ford Mustang Restomod. Restomod (restoration + modern parts/technology) draws from all the amazing advancements in automobile technology over the past 40+ years to enhance the performance, comfort and safety of the classic car. A restomod car has the timeless appearance of the original, but the outdated guts of the car have been replaced with the more modern, high-performance parts of today. You achieve the same great look, but your vintage car will be revved up with all the latest bells and whistles to create a much better ride for the owner. A restomod has portions of the car as they were when the car was first offered for sale as well as significant changes, updates. The first-generation Ford Mustang was manufactured by the Ford Motor Company from April 1964 until 1973. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the "pony car." The Mustang’s styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of imitators. Drawing on inspiration from the mid-engined Ford Mustang I concept vehicle, Lee Iacocca ordered development of a new "small car." The design teams had been given five goals for the design of the Mustang: It would seat four, have bucket seats and a floor mounted shifter, weigh no more than 2,500 pounds and be no more than 180 inches in length, sell for less than $2,500, and have multiple power, comfort, and luxury options. The "restomod" on this Mustang began with a full restoration on the body and interior. Now powered by a crate Ford 302 CID V8, this Mustang is pumping out 340 horses!!! All this power is routed through a TCI C4 transmission with stall converter. Putting all this power to the pavement is a Quick Performance rear end. The B&M Quicksilver shifter adds another one of the five goals the original design team had - a floor mounted shifter. The full dual exhaust with headers make this pony mighty "throaty." The Be-Cool aluminum radiator keeps this beast cool as a cucumber. All four corners have QA1 shocks, and Wilwood disc brakes. Wilwood is also the manufacturer of the master cylinder and manual proportioning valve, so braking this pony is a snap. The exterior is blanketed in a brilliant Red paint, with white GT stripes along the side. All trim and weather stripping is new. The simple black interior compliments the exterior rather tastefully. Slip behind the ididit steering column and Grant steering wheel, and strap yourself in with the Simpson latch & link seatbelt. Options include: Custom Autosound vintage replica AM/FM stereo, Lokar pedals, March aluminum pulley, new fuel tank with electric fuel pump, Classic Instrument gauges, power steering, tilt wheel, vinyl interior, radial tires, and Vintage Wheel Works 17 inch aluminum alloy wheels. This piece of American Muscle Car history, with modern updates can be yours with one phone call!!!
