For sale in our Chicago showroom is a 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible. The Mustang was introduced to the public on April 17, 1964 and soon went on to be Fords most successful launch since the Model A. The Mustang created the "pony car" class of American automobiles—sports-car like coupes with long hoods and short rear decks and gave rise to competitors such as the Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, AMC Javelin, Chrysler's revamped Plymouth Barracuda and the first generation Dodge Challenger. This particular Mustang started its life as a Summertime Yellow over Black 6cylinder with a 3 speed transmission. This little beauty now has the heart beat of a fully rebuilt 289 Cubic Inch V8 and 3 Speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission with lighted gear selector. One thing you will notice at first glimpse of this convertible is the new Summertime Yellow paint. This unique color is not commonly seen and looks fantastic complimented by the new black interior and new cloth power convertible top. No fighting for top down driving as this top retracts effortlessly with the touch of a switch. All brightwork including the front and rear bumpers have been re-chromed and all interior carpeting has been replaced. Options on this little pony include power convertible top, new white wall tires and AM/FM Radio. Located in our Chicago showroom, this 1966 Ford Mustang can be seen including an HD video and pictures at www.gatewayclassiccars.com. For additional information please call (708) 444-4488 or email
