Gateway Classic Cars of Charlotte, North Carolina, is proud to list this soft-top 1965 Plymouth Valiant Signet.
Keep reading if you want to add a fun little cruiser to your car collection. This car does not feel like it's 57 years old going down the road.
The Valiant was one of the Big Three's new compacts at the time, and it helped keep the automaker's sales up during what might have been lean years. Well-styled and fun-to-drive, the Valiant offered the desirable combination of simplicity and economy. Powered by the durable Slant Six engine, Plymouth's Valiant was an economical alternative to the larger, thirstier cars of the era. With reasonable care, these cars delivered many thousands of miles of trouble-free driving. Signets remained the brightest and sportiest of the Valiant lineup, with additional chrome accents inside and out, plus unique wheel covers and all-vinyl bucket-seat interiors. A power top was optional for this convertible instead of the standard manual affair.
The owner states that the legendary, slant six-cylinder engine has been rebuilt, and it sure does purr. The smooth-shifting, automatic transmission makes the driving experience even more relaxing as you sit back in the bucket seats and enjoy the ride. Hit the switch that makes the power top fold back and drive. This little gem is a great choice to take out on the back roads, to the local car meet, or just out for a lovely evening. Don't delay, or all of that wind could end up blowing through someone else's hair!
