Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta is proud to represent this 1967 Pontiac GTO! The first generation of the GTO is credited as popularizing the muscle car market segment in the 1960s. The Pontiac GTO is considered by some to have started the trend with all four domestic automakers offering a variety of competing models. The GTO underwent a few styling changes in 1967. The louver-covered taillights were replaced with eight tail lights, four on each side, the GTO emblems located on the rear part of the fenders were moved to the chrome rocker panels, and he grille was changed from a purely split grille to one that shared some chrome. The GTO also saw several mechanical changes in 1967. The Tri-Power carburetion system was replaced with a single 4-barrel Rochester Quadrajet carburetor. The 389 cu in (6.4 L) engine received a larger cylinder bore 4.12 in (104.6 mm) for a total displacement of 400 cu in (6.6 L) V8!
This particular 1967 example was optioned in Burgundy paint over Parchment colored upholstery, Walnut Steering Wheel, Stereo 8 Track, and Heater. Under the hood is the factory 400ci V8 mated to a 4-Speed Manual Transmission sending power to 3.55 gears in the Positraction rear end. This '67 GTO is offered with factory literature, PHS Documents, and partial records and receipts from previous owners, and is a top tier example of a restored car. If you are in the market for a nicely done, very original and correct 1967 GTO, this should be at the top of your list! To see more HD pictures and video please visit GatewayClassicCars.com.
