Chrysler designers were given free rein to design a 30s style hot rod roadster to follow up the show stopping Dodge Viper. Chip Foose helped with the design by drawing up a coupe with similar proportions. Chysler's guys preferred a roadster so they chopped the top off that design and ended up with an open wheel, open top design that has since become immediately recognizable. Chrysler took this all new body design and stuffed in a 3. 5 Liter V6 which made comparable power and torque figures to their V8 engines of the time. Power was transferred via a 'torque tube' to a rear mounted transmission which helped with weight distribution. The later cars used an aluminum version of the 3. 5L which also helped with weight. This is a prime example of late 60-s Muscle. With less than 10,000 miles on it since it received a rotisserie Restoration completed by Greg Carlson in Rock Island, IL.
