What are those funny things under the bumper? Air scoops, that's what! Technically, the W31 was only built in 1969 and 1970. While not called a W31, the equivalent vehicle was available and called the 'Ram Rod 350' in 1968. The Oldsmobile History Center states that only 30 Cutlass Holiday Coupes were produced with the Ram Rod (W-31) package. This Ram Rod Cutlass was produced in February 1968 at the Lansing Michigan Assembly plant. Originally Saffron Yellow from the factory, the owner decided this car would look much better in a Deep Gloss Black. I have to agree with him. The original numbers matching engine has been completely rebuilt. The cam is a bit different now and allows for the addition of power brakes. While the engine sports a new aluminum intake and a set of long tubes headers, the cast intake/exhaust manifolds are stored away in the trunk just in case somebody wants to put them back on.
