Usually these Corvettes come across as a dime-a-dozen used sports car; not this one! This convertible has been meticulously cared for and when you're driving it, it shows. Under the hood is the original LT1 350 CID V8 (300hp) engine and automatic transmission.

The fourth generation or C4 Corvette debuted in 1984. It was slated for 1983, but part delays and quality issues resulted in only 43 prototype Corvettes being produced in 1983, which were never sold. The C4 was the first complete redesign for the Corvette since the C2 Corvette in 1963. New for the C4 were an all-aluminum suspension and aluminum brake calipers which provided rigidity and ample weight savings. As the years went by for the C4, design and styling cues got better and better. By 1993 the exterior and interior designs were set for the remainder of the C4 run, and the LT1 V8 engine was slated as the base engine as well. Only the ZR1 and Grand Sport in 1996 options boasted a better performing engine choice going forward.

The FRC body style was kind of a rare bird and were predominately used for SCCA racing. The fixed roof added a lot of additional rigidity. This added rigidity would aid in reducing body flex and ideally keep the suspension in better alignment during hard cornering. Power still came from the wonderful LS1 pumping out an ultra reliable 345 horses. Shifting is accomplished via 6 speed manual transmission and was the only transmission available for the FRC. You also got the Z51 suspension package with the FRC. The FRC was also 80 pounds lighter than the targa roof coupe. This is a great pick whether hitting the track, or cruising the streets. Production was a mere 4,031 among the 33,270 Corvettes produced in 1999.
