Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to present this 1979 MG MGB! A lot of the mechanicals have been touched, and the interior was replaced September 2021 along with door seals.
Overall the MGB is in good running order and a perfect option for a driver's quality car, or do service the paint/body after 42 years of use!
The engine is a 1.8-liter four cylinder with a 4 speed synchronized transmission. The engine code provided by the seller is 18V883AEL037746. The body code provided by the seller is GU23T974827P and the VIN is GHN5UL491106G.
A short, but not fully inclusive, list of repair items are as follows. New tires installed at 33,430 miles, carburetor overhauled, clutch master cylinder, brake shoes, both front steering gear boots replaced, rear transmission mounts, gearbox bushings, engine buffer mounts, and the rear drive shaft and u-joints refurbished. This work was primarily done between August 2020 and September 2021.
For an entry level roadster there are few better than a British roadster. The MGBs had a lot of stuff figured out and the 1.8 liter engine provides JUST enough power to have some fun safely and there is a plethora of aftermarket support options for these and most communities have active MG clubs! The paint is believed to be mostly original and shows some flaws and cracking throughout. There is also part of the door skin lifting near the passenger window trim / passenger side mirror.
This 1979 MG MGB is offered by the St. Louis sales staff and can be seen in full detail on our website. Our listing all include 100+ HD photos and a detailed video! GatewayClassicCars.com
