Our St Louis Showroom is proud to offer this 1947 Packard Clipper Custom Super Eight. Packard is known for their superior The Custom Super Clipper made its debut when Packard resumed production after world war II. It boasted Packard's largest engine, a 165-bhp 356-cubic-inch straight eight with a nine-main-bearing crankshaft and silent hydraulic valve lifters. This very luxurious Custom Super Eight Clipper sports a soft and plush cloth interior with wood trim. The interior in this ride is in great overall shape and appears to be original. This vehicle also has Packard's electromagnetic clutch, which is identified by a red clutch pedal. This vacuum and electric relay operated mechanism was offered from 1941-1950. It eliminates the need to use the clutch pedal on upshifts after takeoff. However, the driver must still shift the gears manually and use the clutch pedal when coming to a stop or downshifting. Very neat stuff coming from a car out of the 40s. The paint on this black beauty is in great shape like the rest of the car and the color fits it perfectly.
