Convertibles from this era are always a treat! Painted in a very stylish shade of red with a complementary red interior this ride is ready to roll in 1949 style! Please note the convertible top is not fully-functional.
The drivetrain is an in-line 6 cylinder with a 3 speed manual transmission spinning the rear wheels. Plymouth featured a synchro-mesh transmission which means going back down to first gear requires a complete stop, or a perfectly executed double-clutch rev-matched downshift. Times sure have changed!
For the era Plymouth was innovating some technology. They often bragged in their advertisements how there was no need for chokes, or starter buttons - simply turn the key and go! Their four-wheel hydraulic drum brake system was known as 'Safe-Guard' brakes and were quite impressive.
