The ninth-generation F-Series was introduced for 1992 as the second redesign of the 1980 F-Series architecture. Adapting design elements from the newly introduced Explorer and redesigned E-Series and Ranger, the F-Series received a slightly lower hood line, rounding the front fenders, bumper, and grille. Under the hood is Ford's famous fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8 matched up to a smooth shifting E40D automatic transmission and push button four-wheel drive transfer-case. Plus, with power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and like new BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A 33" tires, makes for a capable off-road toy as well as a comfy cruiser. The cab houses a folding bench trimmed in Opal Grey cloth, and gray carpets line the floors under an all-weather mat. Amenities include power lumbar support, air conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry, a Motorola CellularOne phone, a Dolby AM/FM/Cassette stereo, electric windows, and locks. A leather-wrapped steering wheel mounted on a tilt column, frames an 85-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, amperage, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 130k Carfax reported miles and shows like a 2 owner (until last month anyway) XLT should!
