Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is proud to present this 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire hardtop. The “Starfire" nameplate was first introduced in 1954 in conjunction with the Oldsmobile Ninety-eight convertibles. By 1961 the Starfire became a stand-alone model to compete in the luxury car market as a convertible only. By 1962 a hardtop model hit the market with record sales of 34,839 units sold. The Starfire shared sheet metal with other full-sized Oldsmobile models but sported unique trim and one of the most luxurious interiors in the Oldsmobile lineup.
This 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire hardtop is painted Chariot Red with silver side trim and a white roof. An abundance of “Starfire" chrome trim, shaved door handles, and a set of American Racing alloy wheels add to the sporty good looks. The interior is appointed with two-tone burgundy vinyl- trimmed bucket seats, sports console, tachometer, full floor plush carpeting and a De Luxe Safety -Vee steering wheel. Under the hood is a 394 cubic inch V-8 with a four-barrel carburetor pumping out 345hp. The transmission is a three-speed automatic. More comfort features include air conditioning, AM factory radio, power windows, power driver's seat, power steering and power front disk brakes.
