The Firebird was built by Pontiac a division of General Motors from 1967-2002.It was designed to compete with the new Ford Mustang. The first Trans Am was produced 1n 1969 with only 697 units built. By 1972-73 the Trans Am had clearly entered the entered the muscle car market even though production numbers were low. The 1989 Trans was celebrating its 20th anniversary when this beauty came off the assembly line. The third generation Trans Am was produced from 1982-1992 where production numbers climbed exponentially due to increased popularity.
This 1989 Pontiac Trans Am is painted in crisp white accented with a set of factory black inset honeycomb alloy wheels. The highly tinted T-tops are almost black and add to the sporty look the Trans Am is known for. The light gray cloth interior sports bucket seats and a floor shifter. Under the hood is a 305 V-8 attached to a four-speed automatic transmission. Comfort features include air conditioning, AM/Fm/ cassette radio, cruise control, tilt wheel, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, power steering. power anti-lock brakes and T-tops!
