Gateway Classic Cars of Las Vegas is proud to present this 1957 Thunderbird.
The Thunderbird entered production for the 1955 model year as a sporty two-seat convertible. Unlike the Chevrolet Corvette, it was not marketed as a sports car. Ford positioned the Thunderbird as an upscale model and is credited in developing a new market segment - the personal luxury car. Though sharing some design characteristics with other Fords of the time; such as circular headlamps and tail lamps and modest tail-fins. The Thunderbird was sleeker and had features like a hood scoop and a 150 mph (240 km/h) speedometer hinting at a higher performance nature that other Fords didn't possess. The Thunderbird's 102.0 inches wheelbase frame was mostly a shortened version of that used in other Fords. This car has been repainted a number of years ago but still looks great. It has a power seat, Town & Country seeking radio, and muffler replaced.
