1931 Ford Model A

Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1931 Ford Model A 5-Window Coupe! The Model A was one of Ford’s greatest successes, the predecessor the Model T. The “A” came in many shapes and sizes of the years with nearly 5 million being built in its generation from 1927 to 1931. One of those styles was the 5 Window Coupe, and it’s one of the most sought after today, some for originality, but mostly by hotrodders everywhere to make it into a awesome street rod! Here we have one of those rare 5 window coupe street rods, in a ’31 model and the last year for it. The yellow paint is vibrant, really draws your attention and is in nice condition. It’s an all-metal car save for the fenders. The tan tweed interior creates a nice balance in the tones on the car and is also in good form. Powering this hot rod is a 350ci V8 backed by a turbo 350 3-speed automatic with shift kit. Sounds good and runs great. The current owner has had the car for over 28 years and did the rebuilt of the car between 1993-94. Frame is stated to be the original stock Model A frame. Rear suspension is 4-Link All American Coil Over and rear pan hard bar. Rear end is a Ford 8” with a 3.00:1 gear ratio. Front suspension is 4” drop axel 4-Link and front disc brakes. Master cylinder and steering box were sourced from a mustang. Per owner, engine is out of a 1975 GMC with 4-bolt mains. Other notes: Stick Radiator, Walker Exhaust (2” aluminum, stainless mufflers, Sanderson Headers -HPC Coated. Recent work since 2021 – New water pump, Edelbrock performer carb, electric choke, fuel pump, Summit Electronic Distributor, Taylor Ignition Wires, Gauges, Vintage Heat/Air, Lecarra Steering Wheel, Chevy Hot Start Kit, Voltage Booster, and more. A personal note from the owner mentions to not, I repeat not use DOT-3 Brake Fluid, car has Silcone Brake Fluid. You should not mix the two. Owner has provided half a gallon to go with the car. Car also comes with Notes from other owner on the build, instructions on various items, pamphlets, and a car cover. The title is clean and clear and ready to be transferred into your name now!
