Gateway Classic Cars of Kansas City is proud to offer this 1982 Chevrolet Corvette. 1982 was the final year of the C3 Corvette. So, GM sent it off with a bang. Enter the Collector's Edition Corvette. It features special paint, interior, the first opening rear hatch on a Corvette and bespoke wheels. The option list was extensive, with nearly everything being standard. Under the hood was the Cross-Fire fuel injection 350-cid V-8 which used twin throttle-bodies and computerized metering for 200hp. Its unique Silver-Beige metallic paint was accented by pin stripes and a "fading shadow" treatment on hood, fenders, and doors. The car rode on special finned wheels and has solar screened, bronze tinted T-tops. Inside was a matching Silver-Beige metallic interior with multi-tone leather seats and door trim. Additionally, the Collector Edition's hand-sewn leather-wrapped steering wheel kept the theme color and its leather-covered horn button. The 1982 Collector's Edition corvette was distinct in that it was the first Corvette to break the $20,000.00 price mark. Collector Edition corvettes were built-to-order. These cars had a 0 in the sixth position of the VIN, so swindlers couldn't fake a Collector's edition - a common occurrence with many "collector cars" . This 1982 Collector's Edition is optioned with Power steering, brakes, windows, locks, AM/FM radio with cassette player, and even the optional CB Radio.
