Cadillacs advertising in 1969 called the Eldorado "the world's finest luxury car" and today, 53 years later, this example still looks that way. Power comes from the 472 cubic inch 375hp engine. The smooth shifting 3 speed THM automatic transmission gives you the feeling it's not changing gears, but before you know it you are at highway speeds. Being the "finest luxury" automobile of its time, the equipment list included: front wheel drive, variable-ratio power steering, and automatic level control. This car also features power windows, power door locks, air conditioning, rear window defogger, tilt steering column, power antenna, and power front disc brakes. Finished in a Turquoise exterior paint that still looks luxurious.
Eldorado prices started at $6711, but most cars were heavily optioned. Cadillac's only engine remained the 375 bhp 472 cubic-inch V-8 with a 3-speed Turbo-Hydra-Matic transmission, still split in the Eldorado's case with the gearbox on the left hand side of the engine and connected by a sophisticated chain. Suspension was still torsion bars up front with leaf springs at the rear, and self-leveling rear suspension.
