The Ford Parklane is a station wagon that was produced by Ford for the 1956 model year. In line with the Chevrolet Nomad, the Parklane was a premium two-door station wagon, combining the body of the two-door Ford Ranch Wagon with trim elements of the Ford Fairlane sedan. The Parklane is a two-door station wagon, sharing its bodyshell with the Ford Ranch Wagon. To distinguish the model line, the Parklane received the stainless-steel bodyside stripe of the Fairlane (otherwise reserved for three-row Country Sedans. While the roofline was shared directly with the Ranch Wagon, the B-pillar was trimmed in stainless steel (a design element loosely adapted from the Fairlane Crown Victoria).
Here we have a great example of a clean Parklane wagon finished in Black Cherry Pearl. A Plum over Gray interior completes the look of this Ford wagon! Upon inspection of the interior, it is clear that fit-and-finish was top priority in this restoration! Some nice touches include the sliding second-row windows, updated gauges and a hidden hitch setup.
Powering this Parklane wagon is a Ford 302 V8 fitted with GT40 cylinder heads to help the engine breath. That power is backed up by a C4 automatic transmission and put to the ground using a Ford Explorer rear axle.
