Gateway Classic Cars of Kansas City is proud to present this gorgeous 1970 MGB Roadster. Powered by the believed to be original and strong 1798cc motor and the smooth shifting 4-speed manual transmission this MGB is ready to cruise! The previous owner bought this gorgeous MGB from a dealer in Pompano Beach Florida, then took the car to Design Velke in Cedarburg Wisconsin to have the vehicle restored by David Welky. David restored the MG for over 12 years from 2003-2015 and you can tell all of the amazing work that was done.

The engine block was completely disassembled and was boiled and used in an acid tank. The block was bored over .20 over, and had new freeze plugs and cam bearings replaced. The crank was polished and the rods were re-rounded with new bearings. Crank and rods (0.10) and had new pistons, pins, and even a new oil pump. The head has new valve guides, a new (Stock) camshaft and also lifters. It has been upgraded from 6 to 12 volt and has a new battery and alternator. They added a new pierce manifold with Weber carbs, and a flame thrower ignition and distributor.

The transmission was disassembled, cleaned, inspected and they replaced the bearings and synchro parts. Along with this they added a new clutch, pressure plate, master and slave cylinders and even a new throw out bearing. This stunning MGB has all new brake cylinders, linings, a new master cylinder, new hoses, new return springs and a new e-brake cable. On the interior they have added new floor pans and rockers, new carpet, leather seats and also seatbelts. The convertible top bars were stripped, painted and lubed and had a new convertible top installed. They added a new cowl top, new dash, a new shift boot, door pads and seals.

The owner spared no expenses on this restoration. Some finishing touches that they added were having the drive shaft assembly and yokes disassembled and cleaned. While being cleaned they added new u-joints, and had it painted and balanced. A new gas tank was added with new gaskets, seals and a new sending unit. They blasted and powder coated the exhaust manifold and transmission, and then had the rear axle cleaned, painted and had new fluids and seals changed out. The wire wheels were stripped, painted, had new bands and tubes installed and also added swapped the tires out to Pirelli P400 Touring Tires. New decals per factory were added, and the body and panels were treated by Design Velke with excellant fit, finish, and paint in the correct color. All bulbs, wiring and fuses were re-worked for a 12 volt system and they added a new stainless steel exhaust as well. The owner had this car completely restored and has well over 30k invested into this gorgeous MGB and it is very apparent.

Some additional features of this gorgeous 1970 MG MGB Roadster include manual convertible top, Radial tires, Seatbelts, and the stunning wire wheels.
