1963 Rambler 660 Station Wagon

Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is pleased to present this sunny yellow 1963 Rambler Classic 660 Cross Country wagon. While we don't have receipts, it's said to have been restored prior to 2017. During the restoration, both exterior and interior color changes were implemented, as well as a rebuild of the powertrain, and replacing the exhaust. Power is provided by a 195.6 CID inline-six, which is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. This wagon comes with a roof rack, two-tone interior upholstery, a Lounge-Tilt front seat, and a fold-down rear bench. It also ships with 1963 California license plates, adding a little bonus for its next owner. When it first rolled off the line, it was finished in Calais Coral Metallic and Concord Maroon Metallic (48-50); however, it was painted in its current color scheme during the restoration. The paint is in good shape for a "driver quality" car, with a few chips on the fenders, and minor pitting on portions of the bumpers; but overall, it's nice enough that you'll get plenty of thumbs-ups while you're out driving. It rides on steel wheels with Rambler-branded hubcaps and BFG Silvertown 7.50-14 bias ply tires. The car is equipped with front and rear drum brakes, for which the brake wheel cylinders were replaced prior to its current owner's purchase. While the interior was originally equipped with silver vinyl with black woven cloth inserts (362-P), it was trimmed in its current two-tone yellow and white upholstery (with floral overlays) and received a new headliner and tan carpet during the restoration. Features include a heater and defroster as well as a Lounge-Tilt front seat, a fold-down rear bench, a push-button radio (but no speakers), and storage compartments are hidden under the custom padded cover in the cargo area. The two-spoke steering wheel frames a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer as well as gauges for fuel level and temperature.
