Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is excited to offer this very sharp 1999 Mustang GT Convertible. Aside from the tasteful use of a Cervini "mini cowl" hood and those cool wheels, this GT looks pretty much like a normal run-of-the mill yellow 1999 Mustang GT convertible; however, when you start looking closer, you know immediately that this car means business. This feisty GT sports a brilliant yellow exterior, black leather interior, and a custom yellow faced gauge package. This car reportedly was a tuner shop's rolling technology showcase: built by South Texas Performance ("STP") in San Antonio, this car has a lengthy goody list! Powered by a definitely far-from-stock mill, which is backed by a fresh T56 6-speed manual that spins the 3.90:1 gears (with limited slip diff) out back, this is one fun ride! The powerplant has an '04 Cobra short block stuffed with Mahle pistons, Patriot Stage 2 blower cams, 60lb/hr injectors, SCT BA 2800 mass air meter, MSD coil packs, BBK 78mm throttle body, and a Stack Racing intake spacer. Exhaust gases are scavenged by Bergs Performance stainless steel long tube headers, a custom BBK X-pipe, and a Bassani cat-back muffler setup. A Ram HD clutch (with Ford Motorsport adjustable clutch cable) and matching Ram flywheel helps ensure no power is lost between the T56 and the rear end. The T56 is also filled with Royal Purple fluids and send the twist out back via an '04 Cobra driveshaft. A custom SCT chip and tune by STP combine to make the most out of things, generating nearly 530 RWHP at 8PSI boost. This enhanced GT also is equipped with a trunk-mount battery relocation kit, an '04 Cobra fuel tank, a twin set of Cobra fuel pumps, BBK upper and lower control arms, subframe connectors, Eibach Sportline lowering springs, SSBC slotted rear rotors, EBC Green Stuff brake pads, and some meaty Nitto NT555 high performance radials (275/40ZR18 at all four corners) on its custom 18" FR500 aluminum wheels. Inside, aside from the A-pillar mount tri-gauge cluster, the yellow dash gauge faces, the CDC-style roll bar, and the obvious Shelby "classic white" shift knob with the 6-speed gear etching (sitting atop a Steeda Tri-Ax shift lever), this car's interior looks original, and it's obvious that it has been very well kept. The triple pillar gauge cluster houses Autometer gauges for boost, fuel pressure, and a pyrometer for EGT monitoring. The leather seats are in very good shape, as is the carpet. With a reported "less than 3000 miles on the build", this is a GT that should give you miles of smiles. For you Mustang fans, don't miss out in this one!
