For the 1956 model year, an all-new version of the F-Series made its debut. Increased dimensions, improved engines, and an updated chassis were features of the second generation, and the naming scheme change for the F-Series remains in place to the present day. The half-ton F1 became the F100 (partially influenced by the North American F100 Super Sabre jet fighter). This 1956 F100 has undergone a radical restoration. It is now powered by a peppy roller cam-equipped 302 H.O. V8 that's backed by a performance-built AOD (4-speed) automatic from Monster Transmission. Thanks to the wrapped headers and dual exhaust setup, this truck has an aggressive throaty rumble to match its style. Although the truck appears to be just a mild-mannered '56 F100, it is packed full of features, including a 1999 Ford Ranger front clip with power rack and pinion steering, Cragar aluminum wheels with radial tires, power front disc brakes, Howell throttle body fuel injection, remote power door locks, power windows, Vintage Air A/C, Dakota Digital A/C controls and cruise control, Wise Guys heated bench seat with accessory ports (covered in high grade synthetic leather), RetroSound AM/FM head unit, Classic Instruments gauge cluster, Oak bed flooring, electric cooling fan, CrafTec tonneau cover for the bed, GM Tilt Steering column, aluminum driveshaft, and custom-installed taillights from a 1962 Corvette.
