1930 Ford Model A

Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is excited to present this sweet 1930 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan. The bright yellow paint on its steel body (and steel fenders and steel running boards) is hard to miss from a distance, so you're sure to attract a crowd wherever you drive it! And speaking of "driving it", this is a heckuva great car for trips - its owner has put nearly 20,000 miles on it since purchasing it a over a decade ago; including driving it over 100 miles to the showroom to bring it to us! The engine, radiator, transmission, and rear end were replaced early on: a GM 350 CID crate V8 and GM TH350 3-speed automatic transmission were installed, a 1985 Buick Regal gave up its rear end (and received some custom fabrication to allow the coil-over-equipped multilink rear suspension setup), and some cows gave up their hides to upholster the interior. When the interior was being redone, Dynamat-type sound insulation was added in preparation for the long road trips to car shows, making the passenger compartment more conversation-friendly. The interior panels and seats were covered in a nice grade of leather, so the pleasing aroma of leather now permeates the interior, plus, the driver's seat has power adjustment capability as a bonus. Even the custom storage pockets on the doors are hand-executed from leather! The ultrasuede headliner adds a nice touch and complements the leather remainder. The attractive woodgrain dash houses a set of vintage-style VDO gauges, which are neatly laid out and clearly visible. The chrome-plated tilt steering column is topped by a thick wood-rimmed Grant GT steering wheel, which provides just the right feel. Additional enhancements include cold A/C, power steering, seat belts, spare tire, a 20-gallon stainless steel fuel tank, and a spacious enclosed storage compartment behind the front seats. This is a sweet-driving classic: with its torquey V8, smooth-shifting automatic, highway-friendly 2.41:1 gear ratio rear axle, and comfortable seating for two, you'll want to drive to every car show you can find!
