Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is delighted to present this first year, 1967 Pontiac Firebird in light yellow on black.
Firebird and Camaro launched the same year and were an instant hit. They were widely applauded and offered a nice alternative competitors like the Mustang- which had a 3 year head start in the Pony-Car market. And although Firebird and Camaro shared the same F-body platform, Pontiac managed through the year to offer a very distinctive look over it's GM cousin.
Firebirds stands-out from big brother Lemans & GTO A bodies mainly due to having a partial frame only under the front, and subframe & leaf springs in the rear. As a result, they are lighter... which made them winners at the dragstrips and with gearheads on the street. They also made eye-catching daily drivers. This particular car benefits from a nice quality restoration, looking very clean, smooth and shiny. It was a V8 model from the factory.
Under the hood is suspected to be the legendary Pontiac 400. It's connected to a 3-speed automatic, using the original 2-speed console shifter (per the former owner). The motor has a nice cam in it, with that sweet lope at idle. An Edelbrock aluminum intake, Holley 4-barrel, open air cleaner and headers help it breathe easier. Inside, a refreshed bucket seat & console interior and custom steering wheel welcome you. Equipment includes AM/FM/CD radio, power steering, power brakes, and custom aluminum wheels. It's a sharp Pontiac with an attitude that gets the looks!
