Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is excited to offer for sale one sweet 1955 Ford F100 Restomod Show truck! Arguably the best-looking pickup of the 1950s, the F-100 makes a great-looking hot rod without much alteration at all. But when the custom work is taken up a notch, as in the case of this particular 1955 Ford F-100, the curb appeal goes through the roof. Wicked paint, an aggressive stance, 390 big block power, and a comfortable A/C interior, this dialed-in Ford is miles away from your Grandad's old hauler, yet still retains its vintage presence even with a host of upgrades. If you crave lots of attention and the performance to back it up, this dialed-in truck delivers in a big way.

Bright colors always work well on vintage pickup trucks, but the particular shade of Grabber Blue is so bright and vivid that you almost need sunglasses to look directly at it. Mixed up by professionals, it's a basecoat/clearcoat paint that was expertly applied over laser straight sheet metal, and it has such a deep luster and shines you'd think any fly that landed on it might drown. Custom flame work was added for a bespoke touch on the front end, and the darker blue colors chosen for the accents really work great up against the light blue finish, especially on the hood. During the restoration, the cab was replaced with that of a '56 so it has that beautiful wrap-around windshield. Everything was very neatly restored and fitted, so the gaps are exacting and even the big hood fits evenly with the fenders. It's the kind of detail that you don't notice immediately but gives the whole truck a very high-quality look that stands up to scrutiny. Everything is steel, too, including the running boards, and the Ford metal looks straight as an arrow when you look down the sides. It's pretty difficult to believe that this truck was completed in 1995, but it certainly speaks to the quality of the build, and how incredibly well-cared-for it's been ever since. Most of the original chrome and stainless trim was left in place, including the grille and headlight surrounds, the gorgeous Ford F-100 emblems on the hood, and the bright chrome pumpers found fore and aft that provided great contrast against the blue finish. Cool-looking taillights are highlighted with company script on the lenses, as was the style with original pickups from the era, while the bed is lined with beautifully finished oak boards and stainless steel rub strips that look so nice you'll hesitate before you haul anything dirty away from Home Depot.

The Ford's utilitarian interior got a huge makeover, anchored by a supple, splint-bench seat that was cut down and wrapped in gorgeous light gray leather that's all day comfortable. Accentuated by elegant pleated inserts and supported by thick cushions, all pretext of working for a living has been wiped out, creating a luxury-oriented cockpit that's a pleasure to visit. The door panels were upholstered to match the seat, as was the back of the cab, and the headliner was wrapped in dark navy to mirror the look of the plush navy carpets below. A tilt steering column with a leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel makes it easy to get comfortable, a billet shifter joins it on the column and falls easily to hand, and there's a full set of handsome original gauges inside a chrome bezel in the dash. A set of auxiliary gauges, including a large tachometer in the center of the dash, were added to keep an eye on the big block under the hood, while aftermarket options like a Kenwood AM/FM/CD head unit, power windows, and a full R134a A/C system were added to make the cab that much more comfortable.

Power in the form of a 390 cubic inch V8, and that genuine 'Built Ford Tough' big block power means that this truck moves with genuine authority. A big Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor atop a polished intake helps build power, while the custom dual exhaust system sounds absolutely fantastic up and down the throttle. The forward-tilting hood covers the big engine without restricting service access, and it looks right tucked back under the cowl and in between the neatly painted inner fenders and a firewall. A few chrome and billet dress-up parts add some flash and the blue theme continues with matching details like the power steering pump and power brake booster, while a big aluminum radiator with dual electric fans helps keep the show nice and cool. Underneath, Ford's original frame was reinforced and fitted with a Volare front clip with a thick sway bar, power steering, and power front disc brakes. There's a C6 3-speed automatic transmission built with a trans cooler and a sturdy rear end out back, so it definitely feels like a muscle car from behind the wheel, and it can easily handle the rigors of the modern road. The aggressively raked stance looks great, punctuated with a shiny set of Full Moon wheels adorned with blue 'Ford' script in the center, and it sits on staggered 245/60/15 front and 275/60/15 rear BFGoodrich white-letter radials.

Beautifully built, expertly finished, and nicely sorted, this is a truck that will attract a lot of attention and still put a big smile on the driver's face. Call today!
