Gateway classic cars of Detroit is proud to present this 1940 Chevrolet special deluxe. In the forties Chevrolet switched their attention to building Military equipment such as ambulances and trucks for World War II. However, prior to the stoppage, Chevrolet had entered the decade with a whole new lineup of popular cars to choose from and a prime example would be this 1940 Special Deluxe. From top to bottom, front to back, smooth body lines to the ultra plush interior this is a beauty and a beast. Under the hood, you'll find the 216ci inline 6 "Victory Six" engine, which was the only one offered. It produced 85 horsepower at 3300 rpm. The transmission was a manual synchromesh 3 speed, with vacuum assisted shift, in which the "three-on-the-tree" shifter was able to be moved between gears by the slightest pressure on the lever. Third gear was direct, meaning the input and output are equal speeds. Finished in a beautiful ruby red/maroon on the exterior, it pairs well with the 2 tan cloth bench seats that will think you're back home on the couch!

No matter what you plans of usage are you will be grinning ear to ear every time you hop in the drivers seat.
