Gateway Classic Cars of Detroit is proud to present this 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado. This 385-hp with the "Rocket" V8 was America’s first front-wheel drive car since the 1930s, though GM had been playing with the idea for more than a decade. Benefits included a flat floor that allowed seating for six. It's chain-driven front end wasn’t the Toronado’s only calling card; it is also beautiful. And this example is just that. This particular toronado is wearing a beautiful "target red" paint on the exterior, with a black leather/vinyl interior with 2 bench seats, capable of seating you and 5 of your family/friends! Even with a total of 6 people seated in this car, the 385-hp and 475 lb-ft of torque to the front white-wall tires, this car will get you all moving with the quickness! The front-wheel drive was not the only piece of innovation introduced to the Toronado. Oldsmobile introduced a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission also. This particular Toronado is equipped with A/C, cruise control, power brakes, steering, locks, windows, antenna and seats. Miles on the dash are at 38,964 and we cannot confirm if they have rolled over, but with the condition this car is in, it is very unlikely. Here is your chance to own THE front wheel drive muscle car from the 60's, don't let this "toromato" get away!
