Gateway Classic Cars pleased to present a beautiful 1929 Ford Model A Coupe in Soft Brown with a White top and a Carmel brown interior. The Model A was introduced in October of 1927 and produced through 1932 as a replacement for the Model T. It was designed as an inexpensive car with room for two in the front and two in the classic rumble seat in the rear. It's powered by a rugged water cooled “L" Head in line 4 cylinder 201 ci engine producing 40 hp with a top speed of 65 mph. The transmission is an unsynchronized three speed sliding gear manual with a high speed reverse gear. The Model A was one of the first cars to utilize a standard control placement for the clutch, brake, throttle and gearshift setup. In addition, it was the first car to install safety glass to protect passengers in case of collision. This example is beautifully restored with a high degree of attention to detail all around from the gleaming chrome to the accented hand drawn pen stripes. The brown exterior paint matches well to the orange wire wheels with period white walls. All panels are original to the car making for a nice original steel body Model A. There is a radiator temp gauge mounted out front but comes with the original swan cap as well. Driving this Model-A Coupe is like stepping into a time machine back to a simpler and some say better time when the whole world was out in front of you waiting to be explored.
