Gateway Classic cars in DENVER welcomes this 2004 Pontiac GTO

The name, GTO was inspired by the Ferrari 250 GTO. The moniker is an Italian abbreviation for Gran Turismo Omologato ("grand tourer homologated"), designating being certified by the FIA for racing in the grand tourer class as a production car with at least a hundred units made. A Pontiac employee actually had the car homologated by the FIA in 1964, so that it was indeed possible for the GTO to compete in European sports car racing

A great way to "Ga-Day". One of the most anticipated Big boy toys in 2004 was the Pontiac GTO. Back in 1964 the GTO more or less started the Muscle Car Era, and a generation of car enthusiast went crazy for Big Bore American V8's and smoky Burn outs. Does the 2004 have what it takes to be an American Muscle car as it was built on the Holden Monaro platform which was imported from Australia.

With only 17 months to develop the '04 GTO the styling was left a little to generic with its clean aero Dynamic look for a Pontiac Flagship. However, under the hood is the Corvette based 5.7 Liter LS1 pumping out 350 HP and 365 LB-FT Torque. Power runs through special Low pressure Dual Exhaust system. Shifting is done by the Factory Tremec 6-Speed with a low 2:97 First Gear. sending all the power to the 3:46 Gear Rear-end. The few options available for the GTO in 2004 was the sought after blue interior, the recessed grille, choice between automatic or 6 Speed Manual Transmission. The owner added the OEM Ram-Air hood commonly found on 2005/06 Models. A K&N Air Intake was added along with the K&N Performance Chip., as well as New tires which were installed just before consignment. This thing has power everything, unlike the 1964 version. Don't miss your opportunity to own this piece of American/ Australian Muscle car history.
