For sale in our Chicago showroom is a loud 1969 Plymouth Road Runner. The Road Runner name was introduced in 1968 as a trim level for the Plymouth Belvedere, and was designed to be “no Frills" muscle, just a simple car with a big engine. Trim wise, it was shoehorned between the highest trim GTX and the Satellite. The Road Runner sold double its expected numbers in the first year, becoming a huge success!
This Road Runner was repainted with a blue that shines in the sun. The body lines, along with the stance of this car give it a solid and mean presence. Originally a 383 car from the factory, but has been upgraded to legendary 440 that lights up the tires. People will not miss you as you come up behind and roar past. Mated to this iconic Mopar engine is 4-speed manual transmission running the power back to a posi-traction rear end. Shifting is made easy thanks to the Hurst “T" grip shifter. This car is ready for the street or the strip. Other features unique to this car are a trunk fuel cell, large Autometer tachometer, and a SunPro gauge cluster to keep an eye on all your levels.
The interior greets you with an “no frills" all black Mopar interior along with bench seat, the original dash, and the unmistakable Roadrunner center emblem and horn ring. A newer Pioneer AM/FM Stereo with a CD player has been put in to help this bruiser drive with some tunes!
