Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta is proud to represent this boxy 1989 BMW E30 M3! The first BMW M3 was based on the E30 3-Series and was intended to be a homologation special to satisfy the DTM and Group A Touring Series rules, which required a total of 5,000 cars to be built. Total production of the E30 M3 was 17,970 cars. The E30 M3 used the BMW S14 four-cylinder engine, a high-revving DOHC design. Some other major differences from the standard 3-Series models included: 5-stud wheel hubs, 6 piston front and 4 piston rear calipers with larger slotted rotors, stainless steel braided brake hoses, offset control arm bushings, and of course cosmetic differences such as fender flares, front and rear spoilers, and 15-inch wheels!
This particular example has recently been repainted in its factory Diamondshwarz Metallic paired with a Gray Leather upholstered sport interior. Under the hood is the famous S14 2.3L inline 4-Cylinder mated to a 5-Speed Manual gearbox topped off with a short throw shifter! At just under 160,000 miles, this 1989 E30 M3 is ready to be driven and enjoyed as is, or stowed away as a collector status piece of automotive history!
