Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta is proud to represent this 1980 Porsche 911 Targa! The Porsche 911 is a two-door 2+2 high performance rear-engine sports car introduced in September 1964 by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany. It has a rear-mounted flat-six engine and originally a torsion bar suspension. The car has been continuously enhanced through the years but the basic concept has remained unchanged. The engines were air-cooled until the introduction of the 996 series in 1998. The replacement for the SC series came in 1984 as the 911 3.2 Carrera, reviving the Carrera name for the first time since 1977. This was the last iteration in the original 911 series, with all subsequent models featuring new body styling and new brake, electronic, and suspension technologies.
This particular 1980 example is powered by a 3.0 Liter Flat 6-Cylinder motor backed by a 5-Speed Manual Transmission. Factory optioned with a Targa roof, this 911 is offered with wide fenders, a large "whale tail" spoiler, and staggered Fuchs wheels. The cabin features seats upholstered in black leather along with a matching dashboard and door panels. As one of the coolest looking sports cars of the 70s and 80s continue to rise in value, now is the time to grab an awesome example like the 1980 Targa!
