New “gills” on the front fender distinguished the 1995 from other C4s. Updated windshield wipers were included to reduce chatter and lift and high speeds. The torque converter was made both lighter and stronger and the automatic transmission was redesigned to improve shifting. Previously optional, larger brake packages were made standard and included the latest anti-lock brake and traction control systems. Technology itself does not make a great sports car. The already legendary LT1 V8 that powers the 1995 Corvette is a direct descendant of the classic ’55 “small-block” V8.
