For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a super cool 1972 Volkswagen Beetle. The odometer reads 36,770, but the actual mileage is unknown. Options for this 1972 Volkswagen Beetle include: AM/FM Radio, CD Player, Hub Caps, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, and Radial Tires. This 72' Beetle features a ladybug paint scheme, with a gloss red body and matte black center accents. The windup toy wind key mounted at the rear of the car is very unique, and it works! Flip a button inside, and it will spin for hours. The black vinyl interior is in good condition, free from any rips, tears, or major wear. The AM/FM CD Player is mounted in the rear, behind the back seat, along with 2 speakers. It does feature a remote control, allowing the driver to operate the radio while driving. A 1600cc dual port engine powers this Beetle down the road, and runs like a top. The 4 speed manual transmission transfers the power to the pavement. The Volkswagen Beetle is one of, if not the most mass produced cars in history. Volkswagen produced a staggering 1.3 million Beetles in 1971 alone. Originally the Beetle featured a 25 horsepower engine and had a top speed of 62 mph (100 km/h). Following WWII speeds on the Autobahn increased, and so to did the horsepower in the beetle, 36 hp to 40hp. By 1970, the North American Volkswagen Beetle featured a 1600cc engine that produced 57 horsepower, over 2 times the original horsepower!
